Real Estate Marketing can be challenging, especially with the gloom of the economy. The way to market real estate is also changing. No longer can you put a sign in front of the property and wait for the phone to ring. You have to be proactive and find your clients. Here are a couple of tips for realtors to market their properties:

1. Identify Your Ideal Client
You can’t market to everyone. When you market to everyone, you are casting a wide net and capture no one. Identify who you would like your customers to be. Is it first-time home buyers? Military? Break down the category further: Is your ideal client a single 24 year old who is buying a home for the first time?By identifying your ideal client, you can formulate a specific marketing strategy.

2. Information, Information Information
Real estate agents say that location is important. To a client, information is important. Home buyers want to feel informed about the decision they’re going to make and buying a house is a big decision. Multiple photos of the property, a detailed but brief description,  and features are items that clients want to know about. The more you inform your customer about their purchase, the more comfortable and trusting they feel about you and their purchase.

3. Be Proactive
With prices in home buyer’s favor, now is not the time to sit back and wait for the phone to ring. As a realtor, you cannot have a “build it and they will come” mentality. Being a successful real estate agent is about being proactive and hungry. Clients like that and are in no hurry to buy if the right opportunity is not presented to them. Get out there and find your ideal client!
