If you ever tried to do high ticket selling in your business, you know that it can be frustrating at times. Frustrating in the fact that you’re not speaking with the right people. And let’s not forget about the pressure that you have leading these conversations. You’re listening to the potential client on the other end of the phone and you know you can help them but you don’t want to sound too pushy or sales-y. Sigh…it’s like going out on a date and you like the person and you hope they like you enough to go out on a second date and possibly a third. Yes, I was so frustrated with high ticket selling, that I just wanted to quit.

I felt like I couldn’t quit. This so-called frustrating strategy is what helped me make over $12k in the last 90 days of 2015 with only 5 hours of work over the phone! And yet, the thought of getting on the phone and speaking with someone made me want to give an evil eye to my iPhone. The day I decided not to do high ticket selling in my business, I had 1 phone appointment on my calendar. My mood began to pick up because this was it! This was the last person I was going to talk to! And then it happened…

This person wasn’t like the others I had spoken to before. As we were talking, she told me her dreams for her business. She told me how she couldn’t wait to get started on her business. It was beautiful listening to the plans she had made and how she wanted to get there. Then she told me that she wanted me to help her get there. ME? Really!? She said she knew that I was the person to help her get there and that she wanted to work with me.

I learned a lot from this conversation. You really can’t judge all the previous conversations and bring them into the next one. People are different. Besides, the 1-2 good conversations you have will erase all the 9-10 bad conversations you had before. Another thing I learned was that if it’s a good conversation, the money will come; don’t sweat it. The point of having free sessions (if you use a high ticket sales model) is for the person to gain clarity and get unstuck, it is not a coaching session. If you coach, the person will know what to do but the core thing that’s keeping them stuck is still there. It’s your service as a mentor or a coach for them to come to that conclusion of what’s keeping them stuck. That’s the most valuable thing you can provide on these free sessions.
